WHO WE ARE

We exist to align collaborative leaders in the fashion industry around the bold goals and urgent actions needed to shape a restorative future.

Fashion Conveners is a global coalition of nonprofits working individually and collectively with the industry’s most influential businesses to accelerate action though partnership, implement strategies that build equity across the value chain, and address the climate crises and social impacts attributed to fashion.

To advance sustainability in fashion, we need collaboration, clarity and trust. Now is not the time to be divided or duplicative.

That’s why we are on a mission to accelerate collective action through connected partnerships within the apparel and accessories value chain, with the ultimate goal of building greater social, economic, and environmental prosperity.

We are not a new organization, but rather a group of leading non-profits committed to aligning key fashion industry players around the bold goals and urgent actions needed to shape a restorative and equitable future. Practically, we act as a guide and conduit for brands and organizations looking for guidance on how they can harness their businesses for good.


WHAT WE DO

Collectively recognizing the importance of setting an ambitious vision to drive change and action, the group works to support common agendas, create partnerships, and holistically drive the industry’s progress along a journey of continuous improvement. While maintaining individual goals and independence, the organizations are aligned on key metrics, performance standards, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. 

 

HOW WE DO IT

Leveraging shared knowledge, skills, data, research and networks, the Fashion Conveners are focused on harnessing the power of the group’s subject matter expertise, creativity, innovation and economies of scale to strategically catalyze action with partnered brands and companies. Fashion Conveners develops solutions, provides resources, drives policy, and accelerates the industry’s adoption of more sustainable and regenerative practices.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The fashion industry needs clear direction on how to make meaningful change.
There is a huge volume of information and initiatives available to actors in this space. Fashion Conveners aims to be a trusted resource to help the fashion community cut through the noise. We connect brands and organizations with the resources they need to take bold action on environmental and social issues.

No one organization can change the fashion industry on its own.
Fashion Conveners represents a coalition of individual organizations working across different areas of the value chain, from raw materials to manufacturing to circularity. We’re committed to connecting the dots within our work and harnessing our collective knowledge, skills and networks so we can have a greater collective impact on the industry.

Duplicated work is wasted time.
Urgency is increasing, and we don’t have time for fragmentation or redundancy. As organizations operating in the same space, we know that there may be crossovers in our work. We are building alliances and collaborating closely to reduce duplication and increase efficiency where it’s needed.

Partnership is powerful. It isn’t always easy — but it’s worth the effort.
We know that by working together, we can make it easier for actors working across the value chain to embrace more sustainable and equitable practices. This belief motivates our collaborative efforts and sustains us through the more challenging aspects of alignment.
